Current Affairs Writer

Joining the YouthPolitics team as a current affairs writer provides an incredible opportunity to get involved with the organisation and the political process. If you’re interested in politics, international relations and writing, this role is certainly perfect for you! The article page is an essential (and the most viewed) page on the website, with each article receiving thousands of views. You will be a crucial part of the organisation, keeping our generation up to date with the news. Please note, we have amazing links with national newspapers and broadcast corporations, so is an absolute must for any budding journalists!


As a current affairs writer you will be working with the articles team, headed by Lucy, to produce interesting content for the page. The role is extremely flexible, but you will be expected to produce at least one article a month. There will also be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved with the organisation and attend events. The role is open to anyone across the United Kingdom in between the ages of 14-25.


A passion for reporting current affairs and an eloquent writing style is all that is needed for the role!
